Guacamole is made from avocado fruit, which originates in Central America.

It is usually made from avocado flesh, chopped white onions, coriander, chili, tomatoes and lemon or lime juice. The creamy salad produced in this manner is used as a dip or a spread. In Mexico, guacamole is usually eaten with flat corn bread called totopos or tortilla chips.
